It comes down to this. Some people love and enjoy thier cars. Others own thier cars. Most people would have scraped my 71 Superior. So far I have put $5,000 into this $1000 coach and I haven't even touched the interior or body. I know I won't get my money out this car. That is ok with me.
Very few people would have touched the 39 Chevy we are rebuilding. It had cancer through several areas and needed a ridiculous amount of work. Rebuilding this car was the best decision I have made.
Both are labors of love. My opinion is that any hearse worth destroying in a derby wouldn't make it to the derby to begin with.
