During the time the new board was being decided upon, one policy the officers decided on was that all members that register must use a version of their real name containing either their real first name, and/or their real last name and/or an initial. For instance, suppose the user's real name is John Doe. The choices for user name would be:

J Doe
John D
John Doe

For those of you who've already registered, if you want to keep the same user account but just want the user name changed, you MUST email me your current user name and your real name. The advantage to that is all the posts you've already made will still be under your current account and you will keep the same password, avatar, mana, etc.

If you have any questions or need clarification, we ask that you post them here as a reply because odds are that other folks may have the same question, but if you prefer email you may do that as well.

Regards

Hello Mark-I have been a member now for three or more years (?) I think but have never been added to the roster or received a response for access tyo the members only board.

Do I need to know a secret pass word or what-I'm beginning to feel like a step-child (which I already was anyway!).

Let me know what to do-thanks,

Tiffany

Hi Tiffany,

Looking under your name here it says that you are a guest. The first thing you will need to do is register on the site. Post here when you have, then Mark V will contact Jeff P to make sure your dues are current and he will give you members board access.

I just check the latest roster and you are not on there. Could your membership be listed under a different name? Are you getting a monthly Epitaph? When did you mail in your dues check, was it before Jan 05? If it was before Jan 05 has the check cleared yet?

This has already been descussed. Do a search on "mana" (without quotes) and follow up on the results.

Hey Brit & Holly,

I have been a PCHC member since 2002 and have never been included in the roster or in the member bios on the web site>:-(. My dues are current and I have spoken to Jeff. Hopefully I will come out of obscurity in the 2006 roster!

Thanks for the reply.

What if I really don't care about the "roster"?  Do I still need to use my real name as a user name?

Only if you want access to the member's only forum.

Mark,

Thanks for the quick feedback, I would like to change my user name from casinoreverend to Aaron Roberts...the email that was listed was casinoreverend@yahoo.com. Please let me know if there's anything else I need to provide.

Best Regards,

Note where it's highlighted that this applies to users who are members. I'll edit it to clarify club members.

thanks Mark  -

I don't mind owning the "filters" suggestion - certainly the word f*ck can be a filtered word as well as the word "happy".

i run a bulletin board where users have to be approved by a mod (me) before they can post. i get hit by a lot of spammers but they can't post, just register. i delete them every few months. this works really well for me and eliminates the need for word filters.

just my 2 cents....:-D

I appreciate your 2 cents - the filter was the only suggestion that Mark came up with.  Perhaps this would work a lot better....Mark, what do you think?
